Bukayo Saka gets stats similar to one of former Arsenal greats
Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka has been outstanding this season for the gunners and his performances has seen him get in the territory of a former gunners star.
Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka has been in scintillating form this season, and his performance against Crystal Palace on Sunday at the Emirates Stadium was no exception. Saka scored two goals and provided an assist as Arsenal cruised to a 4-1 victory over the Eagles.
Saka’s first goal came in the 28th minute when he found Gabriel Martinelli, who fired Arsenal ahead with a brilliant strike. Saka then doubled Arsenal’s lead just before half-time with a neat finish. In the second half, Saka got his second goal of the game with a brilliant first-time strike.
With these two goals, Saka has now scored 11 goals and made 10 assists this season. It’s the first time Arsenal had a player reach 10+ goals and 10+ assists since Alexis Sanchez in 2016/17. These stats are similar to that of one of Arsenal’s all-time greats in the Emirates Stadium era, Alexis Sanchez.
Alexis Sanchez is widely regarded as one of the greatest players to have ever played for Arsenal in the Emirates Stadium era. He scored 60 goals in 122 appearances for the Gunners and provided countless assists during his time at the club. Sanchez was known for his pace, skill, and ability to score from anywhere on the pitch.
Saka may not have reached Sanchez’s level yet, but he is certainly on his way there. The young winger has been one of Arsenal’s standout performers this season and has been instrumental in their recent run of form.
Saka’s versatility is one of his biggest strengths. He can play on either wing or as a wing-back and is equally comfortable playing as an attacking midfielder or a forward. His ability to create chances for his teammates and score goals himself makes him an invaluable asset to any team.
Arsenal fans will be hoping that Saka can continue his impressive form for years to come and help lead them back to their former glory days. With players like Saka in their squad, they certainly have a bright future ahead of them.
