Emile Smith Rowe reveals his demands to Arteta as Arsenal head to final games
Arsenal attacking midfielder Emile Smith Rowe has opened up about how he would like to go back to the starting eleven of Mikel Arteta this season.
Arsenal attacking midfielder Emile Smith Rowe has expressed his desire to get back into Mikel Arteta’s lineup as the Gunners continue their title race in the Premier League. The 22-year-old has had limited game time this season, with just eight appearances in the league, most of which have been from the bench.
Despite his lack of minutes on the pitch, Smith Rowe remains optimistic about his future at Arsenal and is determined to contribute to the team’s success. “I need to be getting minutes, scoring & assisting as much as I can,” he said in an interview with The Athletic. “Obviously my aim is to get back into the Arsenal team, too. I’m desperate to be playing because the team are doing really well & it’s something I want to be a part of.”
Arsenal are currently leading the Premier League table with 69 points after 28 games, but they face stiff competition from second-placed Manchester City, who have 61 points and a game in hand. With just ten games left in the season, every point counts for Arsenal as they look to secure their first league title since 2004.
However, with competition for places high at Arsenal, Smith Rowe will need to continue working hard and impressing Arteta if he wants more game time. The likes of Gabriel Martinelli, Fabio Vieira and Martin Odegaard have been preferred in attacking midfield roles recently, but Smith Rowe remains confident that he can make an impact when called upon.
As Arsenal enter a crucial stage of the season, Smith Rowe’s hunger and determination to succeed could prove vital in their pursuit of the Premier League title. With his talent and potential, he could be the key to unlocking defences and creating chances for his teammates. It remains to be seen whether Arteta will give him more opportunities, but Smith Rowe is ready to seize them when they come.
