Arsenal ended their 2022/23 Premier League campaign on a high note by defeating Wolverhampton 5-0 at the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners were in a fierce title race with Manchester City but a defeat against Nottingham Forest in their 37th game week saw them lose the trophy to The Citizens. Arsenal has ended the season with 84 points while Manchester City have finished with 89 points, making them this year’s Premier League Champions.

Despite not winning the title, Arsenal put up a strong fight throughout the season and led the league table for 10 months. Their last match against Wolverhampton was a testament to their strength and determination as they dominated from start to finish.

The first goal of the match came in the 11th minute when Jesus whipped in a wicked cross and Xhaka leapt highest to nod the ball home. This was followed by another goal just three minutes later when Kilman missed a clearance from Odegaard’s backheel, allowing Xhaka to tap the ball home for his second.

Bukayo Saka made it three for Arsenal in the 27th minute, cutting back on his left foot to curl round the goalkeeper. The Gunners went into halftime with a comfortable lead of 3-0.

In the second half, Trossard with a lobbed cross saw Jesus leap and nod the ball home past the goalkeeper, making it four for Arsenal in the 58th minute. Emile Smith Rowe then chested down a ball in the area and saw Kiwior smash it underneath goalkeeper Sa to make it five for Arsenal in the 78th minute.

The victory over Wolverhampton was an impressive display of Arsenal’s attacking prowess and defensive stability. They controlled possession throughout and created numerous chances that they were able to convert into goals.

Although they fell short of winning this year’s Premier League title, Arsenal can take pride in their performance this season. They will now look to build on their success and come back stronger next season in their quest for the title.
