Arsenal receive good news in their pursuit of Declan Rice
Arsenal is obviously interested in signing Declan Rice in this upcoming summer transfer window and the gunners have reportedly received good news in their pursuit of the window opening.
Declan Rice, the 24-year-old midfielder for West Ham United, is reportedly ready to make it clear that he favours a move to Arsenal this summer. According to a report by The Mirror, Arsenal have already put in a huge amount of work to ensure the deal happens this summer and they believe they are in pole position to sign Rice.
This news comes after some reports claimed that Manchester United had also entered the race for Rice. However, it seems that Arsenal are the front runners in securing his signature.
Rice has been one of West Ham’s only bright spots this season, scoring four goals and providing two assists. His performances have caught the attention of several top Premier League clubs, including Arsenal and Manchester United.
Arsenal were in a fierce title race with Manchester City in a bid to win the 2022/23 Premier League title. However, a defeat against Nottingham Forest in their 37th game week saw them lose the trophy to The Citizens. Currently, Arsenal has 81 points while Manchester City have 89 points. Manchester City are this year’s Premier League Champions even though we still have the last game of the Premier League season yet to be played.
Despite missing out on the title, Arsenal has had an impressive season under manager Mikel Arteta. They will be looking to strengthen their squad over the summer transfer window and signing Rice would be a significant coup for them.
Rice is known for his versatility on the pitch and can play as both a defensive midfielder and centre-back. He would provide much-needed depth and quality to Arsenal’s midfield options.
It remains to be seen whether Rice will indeed make a move to Arsenal this summer. However, if reports are true that he favours a move to North London, then it could be an exciting time for Arsenal fans as they look towards next season with renewed optimism.
