Arsenal’s summer transfer budget revealed along Arteta’s main targets

The summer transfer window is just a few months away from opening and a report has revealed their transfer budget along Arteta's main targets.

Arsenal fans have been eagerly waiting for the summer transfer window to see what their manager, Mikel Arteta, has in store for the team. And it seems like they won’t be disappointed as the club has reportedly cleared Arteta to break their spending record in a splurge that may exceed £200million.

The Gunners are currently in a title race as they sit second on the 2022/23 Premier League table with 81 points after 36 games. However, they are closely following first-placed Manchester City, which has 85 points plus one game in hand. With just two games left in the season, Arsenal fans are hoping that their team can close the gap and win their first Premier League title since 2004.

To achieve this goal next season, Arteta is looking to strengthen his midfield by signing two players: Declan Rice and Moisés Caicedo. The duo could cost a combined £170million, which would make them Arsenal’s most expensive signings ever.

Rice, who currently plays for West Ham United, has been on Arsenal’s radar for some time now. The 24-year-old midfielder has been impressive this season and is considered one of the best young talents in English football. He would bring much-needed defensive stability to Arsenal’s midfield and could form a formidable partnership with Thomas Partey.

Caicedo, on the other hand, is also an outstanding central midfielder that is very good at breaking up plays. He has this season been impressive for Brighton & Hove Albion and the gunners even tried to chase him in the January transfer window.

If Arteta manages to sign both Rice and Caicedo, it would be a major statement of intent from Arsenal. The Gunners have struggled in recent years and have not challenged for the league title until this season. However, with Arteta at the helm, there is a sense of optimism among Arsenal fans that the club is heading in the right direction.

Of course, signing two players for £170million is a huge investment, and there will be pressure on Arteta to deliver results. But if he manages to lead Arsenal to their first Premier League title if they don’t this season, in almost two decades, it will be worth every penny.
