Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has praised Manchester City striker Erling Haaland for his outstanding performance this season, stating that he deserves the Premier League Player of the Year award. Haaland has been a key player for Manchester City, scoring a record-breaking 36 goals and providing 8 assists in the Premier League this season.
Arteta’s comments come after Arsenal lost out on the Premier League title to Manchester City, who currently have 89 points compared to Arsenal’s 81 points. The Gunners were in a fierce title race with City but a defeat against Nottingham Forest in their 37th game week saw them lose the trophy to The Citizens. Despite leading the league table for 10 months this season, Arsenal will have to settle for second place.
Haaland has been instrumental in Manchester City’s success this season, transforming the way they play and opening up new options in attack. He has done what is most difficult in football – scoring goals – and has made the difference in winning more games. His goal-scoring record is absolutely outstanding, which is why Arteta believes he deserves the Player of the Year award.
Haaland’s performances have not only been impressive in the Premier League but also in the Champions League. He has helped Manchester City reach the Champions League final.

Arteta said telling the media: “He (Haaland) had a huge impact in the Premier League and the Champions League. He transformed the way Man City are playing. He opened new doors and new options, which they previously didn’t have in attack.
“He did what is most difficult in the [footballing] world – scoring goals – and he made the difference to win more games. His goal-scoring record is absolutely outstanding, so I think he deserves the award.”
In conclusion, Haaland’s performances this season have been exceptional and he deserves all the accolades that come his way. His impact on Manchester City cannot be overstated and he has played a crucial role in their success this season. Whether he wins the Player of the Year award or not remains to be seen, but there is no denying that he has been one of the best players in the Premier League this season.
