Odegaard reveals what inspired Arsenal to get win over Chelsea
Arsenal midfielder Martin Odegaard has revealed what inspired the gunners to a wonderful 3-1 win over Chelsea after having been on a poor form.
Arsenal midfielder and captain Martin Odegaard has revealed the inspiration behind their impressive 3-1 win over Chelsea on Tuesday night. The Norwegian international disclosed that the team used the hurt and disappointment from their 4-1 loss to Manchester City last week to motivate themselves for the crucial game against Chelsea.
Speaking to reporters after the match, Odegaard said, “We showed a different spirit and team to last time. The second half was a bit messy, but it was a good win for us. Everyone was so hurt after City. We used that anger and disappointment to bounce back in this game.”
The Gunners put in an impressive performance against Chelsea, with two goals from Odegaard and one from Gabriel Jesus securing a comfortable lead at halftime. Although Chelsea managed to pull one back through Noni Madueke in the second half, Arsenal held on for an important victory.
With just four games left in the season, Arsenal are currently leading the Premier League table with 78 points after 34 games. However, they are closely followed by second-placed Manchester City, who have 76 points and two games in hand.
Despite their position at the top of the table, Odegaard knows that Arsenal still have a tough fight ahead of them if they want to win their first Premier League title since 2004. “We have to fight,” he said. “We have to keep going. We will have to fight until the end, and that’s what we’ll do.”
The win over Chelsea will undoubtedly give Arsenal a boost of confidence as they head into their final few games of the season. However, they will need to maintain their focus and determination if they want to hold off Manchester City’s challenge for the title.
For Odegaard personally, his two goals against Chelsea were a welcome return to form after a somewhat inconsistent few weeks. The talented midfielder will be hoping to build on his performance against Chelsea and help Arsenal secure the Premier League title in the coming weeks.
