Arsenal Football Club has reportedly made a breakthrough in talks with Reiss Nelson, with the 23-year-old agreeing in principle to a bumper new deal worth significantly more than his current £60,000-a-week package. According to a report by Daily Mail, barring any last-minute hitches, Nelson will sign a long-term contract – understood to be an initial four years.

Nelson has only made a few sub appearances for Arsenal in the Premier League this season but he has managed to score three goals and make two assists in his limited game time. The young winger has been highly rated by Arsenal’s coaching staff and fans alike, with many believing that he has the potential to become one of the best players in the world.

Despite missing out on the title, Arsenal fans will be buoyed by the news that one of their most promising young players is set to sign a new long-term contract. Nelson’s new deal is expected to include significant pay rises and bonuses, reflecting his growing importance to the team.

The news will also come as a boost for Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, who has been under pressure following his side’s failure to win any silverware this season. Arteta is known for his faith in young players and Nelson’s new deal is likely to be seen as evidence of his commitment to developing talent at the club.

Overall, it seems that things are looking up for Arsenal despite their disappointment at missing out on the Premier League title. With promising young players like Nelson signing new contracts and Arteta’s commitment to developing talent, the future looks bright for the Gunners.
