Brighton set asking price for Arsenal target Moises Caicedo
Arsenal are interested in Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo and a report has revealed that The Seagulls have set their asking price for their star man.
Brighton are reportedly set to demand a fee significantly higher than £70million for their star midfielder Moises Caicedo, who has been attracting interest from Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea as per The Telegraph. The 21-year-old Ecuadorian has been one of the standout performers for Brighton this season, helping them secure a sixth-place finish in the Premier League.
Arsenal, who were in a fierce title race with Manchester City this season, have been linked with a move for Caicedo as they look to strengthen their midfield ahead of next season. However, they will face stiff competition from Manchester United and Chelsea, who are also said to be interested in the young midfielder.
It is also thought that Liverpool could yet enter the race for Caicedo’s signature, with Jurgen Klopp reportedly keen on adding him to his squad this summer. With so many top clubs vying for his services, it is clear that Caicedo is highly regarded in the Premier League.
Despite leading the league table for 10 months this season, Arsenal ultimately fell short in their bid to win the title. A defeat against Nottingham Forest in their 37th game week saw them lose out to Manchester City, who finished five points clear at the top of the table.
Despite missing out on the title, Arsenal will be looking to build on their strong performances this season and challenge for silverware next year. Signing a player of Caicedo’s quality would certainly help them achieve that goal.
However, with Brighton demanding such a high fee for their star midfielder, it remains to be seen whether Arsenal will be willing to meet their asking price. The Gunners may need to sell some players first in order to raise funds for a potential transfer.
Overall, it looks like there will be plenty of competition for Moises Caicedo’s signature this summer. It remains to be seen which club will come out on top in the race for his services, but one thing is for sure – he is a player who will be in high demand.
