Arsennal makes new record after big win over Bournemouth

Arsenal has on Saturday made a new record after beating Bournemouth 4-0 away from home.

Arsenal have made history after their impressive 4-0 victory over Bournemouth in the Premier League. The win not only secured their fifth league victory of the season but also marked a significant record for the club.

The Gunners have now won their opening three away games in a top-flight campaign for just the fourth time in their history. The previous instances were in 1930-31, 2004-05, and 2013-14. However, what makes this achievement even more remarkable is that it is the first time Arsenal has accomplished this feat without conceding a single goal.

The match against Bournemouth showcased Arsenal’s attacking prowess and defensive solidity. Martin Odegaard was instrumental in setting up the opening goal, delivering a fantastic cross from the left that found Gabriel Jesus. Although Jesus’ header hit the post, Bukayo Saka was quick to react and headed in from close range to give Arsenal the lead.

The Gunners extended their advantage from the penalty spot after Eddie Nketiah was fouled by Bournemouth’s Aarons. Odegaard stepped up and calmly rolled his spot-kick into the bottom corner, increasing Arsenal’s lead to two goals.

Shortly after halftime, Arsenal added a third goal when Christie brought down Odegaard inside the box, resulting in another penalty. This time it was Kai Havertz who confidently converted from the spot, scoring his first goal for Arsenal.

Although Jesus came close to adding a fourth goal with a powerful shot across the goal, it was Ben White who sealed the victory for Arsenal. White connected with Odegaard’s free-kick and flicked his header into the net, completing a comprehensive 4-0 win for Arteta’s side.

With this victory, Arsenal currently sits comfortably in third place on the Premier League table with 17 points in this 2023/24 campaign. Their next challenge will be an away fixture against Lens at Stade Bollaert-Delelis Stadium in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.

Arsenal fans will be delighted with their team’s strong start to both domestic and European competitions this season. The record-breaking win against Bournemouth highlights their attacking prowess and defensive resilience, providing optimism for what lies ahead for Mikel Arteta’s side.
