Marseille have submitted an improved proposal for Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah, with the bid reportedly nearing €20 million. While this represents a significant increase from their previous offer, it is still believed to be far from what Arsenal are seeking.

According to The Athletic, the French club’s latest approach is closer to the formula that Arsenal are looking for in terms of structure and potential add-ons. However, despite this adjustment, the Gunners are still expected to deem the offer unrealistic.

Nketiah, despite his limited starting opportunities last season, made a valuable contribution to Arsenal’s impressive Premier League campaign, finishing second in the table. He featured in 27 matches, predominantly as a substitute, but still managed to bag five goals and contribute two assists.

Despite his impressive performance, the young striker is unlikely to be considered a first-choice option for Arsenal in the upcoming season. The Gunners have already bolstered their attacking options with the acquisition of Kai Havertz, adding to their already strong forward line.

This situation leaves Nketiah’s future uncertain. While Marseille’s persistence suggests a strong interest, Arsenal’s stance indicates that they are unlikely to accept an offer that falls short of their valuation.

It remains to be seen if Marseille will further increase their bid or if other clubs will enter the race for Nketiah’s signature. The coming weeks will be crucial in determining the striker’s future, as he faces a difficult decision on whether to pursue a potential move to Marseille or stay and fight for his place at the Emirates.
