Arteta reveals the two Arsenal players that he’s most proud of at the moment
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has heaped praise on two of his key defenders, William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhães, highlighting their remarkable progress and the crucial role they play in the team’s success.
“We believed that Saliba & Gabriel could become really good… but their level now is something incredible, unbelievable,” Arteta told the media, expressing his immense pride in the duo.
Saliba, the French defender, has established himself as a cornerstone of Arsenal’s defense since his return from a loan spell at Marseille. His commanding presence, tactical intelligence, and impressive aerial ability have made him a formidable force at the heart of the backline.
Gabriel, the Brazilian center-back, has also undergone a significant transformation under Arteta’s tutelage. He has become more composed, confident, and disciplined in his defending, forming a formidable partnership with Saliba.
Arteta went on to emphasize the unique chemistry and togetherness between the two defenders. “That togetherness and chemistry is unique and really good,” he said. “I’m proud of Gabriel and Saliba, really,” he added, underscoring their vital contribution to the team’s success.
Arsenal’s defensive solidity has been a key factor in their strong start to the season, and the manager’s faith in Saliba and Gabriel has been instrumental in their development. As the Gunners prepare for their upcoming EFL Cup match against Bolton on Wednesday, followed by a crucial Premier League clash against Leicester City on Saturday, the manager will be hoping that his two proud defenders continue their impressive form and contribute to further success.
