Mikel Arteta reveals the two important Arsenal players that will miss the PSG game
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided a disheartening update on the availability of key midfielders Martin Odegaard and Mikel Merino for the upcoming Champions League clash against PSG.
Both players have been sidelined with injuries, leaving a void in the Gunners’ midfield. Odegaard, Arsenal’s captain and creative force, has been a vital figure in the team’s success this season, while Merino has impressed with his defensive solidity and midfield presence.
Speaking ahead of the crucial match, Arteta confirmed that neither player is expected to return to action in the next 24-48 hours. “We’re not expecting any player to return in the next 24/48h,” he said via Fabrizio Romano, effectively ruling them out of the PSG encounter.
This news will be a major blow to Arsenal’s hopes of securing a positive result against the French giants. The absence of Odegaard and Merino will deprive the team of their experience, leadership, and tactical flexibility in the midfield.
Arteta will now have to rely on other players to fill the void left by the injured duo. The likes of Declan Rice, Thomas Partey, and Leandro Trossard will be crucial in providing creative spark, defensive stability, and attacking dynamism in the absence of Odegaard and Merino.
The Gunners will be hoping that their remaining midfielders can rise to the occasion and deliver a strong performance against PSG. Despite the absence of these two key players, Arsenal will be looking to secure a positive result at home and maintain their momentum in the Champions League.
