Arsenal have learned their next opponent in the EFL Cup, following a decisive 3-0 victory over Preston North End. The Gunners will face Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium in the quarter-finals, setting up an exciting all-London clash for a spot in the semi-finals.

Arsenal’s win against Preston was marked by standout performances, particularly from young Ethan Nwaneri. The 17-year-old academy product delivered a moment of magic, scoring a stunning goal from 20 yards out, curling the ball perfectly into the top corner. This strike was the highlight of a strong individual performance from Nwaneri, who had already impressed with a brace in the previous round.

The scoring began with Gabriel Jesus, who notched his first goal of the season. Jesus capitalized on a knockdown from Jakub Kiwior, firing the ball into the net to give Arsenal an early lead. Substitute Kai Havertz later added to the tally, heading in Arsenal’s third goal in the second half to seal a comfortable win and ensure the Gunners’ progression.

This victory not only propels Arsenal into the last eight but also kicks off a challenging series of away fixtures on a high note. Currently sitting third in the Premier League with 18 points from nine games, Arsenal’s next league test will be against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park on Saturday, November 2. However, the looming quarter-final showdown with Crystal Palace now offers another opportunity for Mikel Arteta’s side to chase silverware.

With their young talents like Nwaneri stepping up, Arsenal fans have much to be optimistic about as they pursue glory on multiple fronts this season.
