Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has outlined how his team can recover from their 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth and refocus ahead of their crucial UEFA Champions League fixture against Shakhtar Donetsk. The Gunners, currently third in the Premier League table with 17 points from eight games, suffered a setback at the Vitality Stadium. The loss marked their third red card of the season, leaving them short-handed once again, but Arteta insists his players must not dwell on the past.

Speaking on how his side can bounce back, Arteta emphasized the importance of channeling their disappointment into a renewed focus for Tuesday’s match. “Well, again, using the pain we are feeling at the moment for Tuesday, that’s the best way to do it. Not feeling sorry for ourselves, how it happened again three times in eight matches, and we are missing our captain and one of our best players. That’s not going to take us anywhere,” Arteta told Arsenal Media.

Despite the frustration of missing key players like captain Martin Ødegaard and defender Jurrien Timber, Arteta is urging his squad to remain positive and channel their energy into the upcoming challenge. “Leave the energy, these boys deserve it because the way they try and want it, we go again on Tuesday,” he added, stressing the importance of moving forward.

Arsenal’s upcoming game against Shakhtar Donetsk at the Emirates Stadium will be crucial in their European campaign, with the Gunners needing a strong performance to maintain momentum in the group stages. Following that, they face Premier League leaders Liverpool in a high-stakes match that could define their season. Arteta remains confident that his players will respond positively to adversity and come back stronger.
