Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has addressed the concerning trend of red cards plaguing his team, with the Gunners receiving their third of the season in their 2-0 defeat at Bournemouth. William Saliba was sent off for tripping Evanilson in the first half, leaving Arsenal a man down and ultimately contributing to the loss.

“We have discussed certain topics,” Arteta said to Football.London when asked how to prevent future red cards. “What happens today is almost unpredictable, very difficult to plan for. We need to play with 11 vs 11 if we want to win at this level.”

Arteta’s comments highlight the frustration surrounding the recurring issue. While the manager acknowledges that some situations are difficult to anticipate, he emphasizes the importance of maintaining a full complement of players in order to compete consistently at the highest level.

The red card against Bournemouth came at a crucial moment, leaving Arsenal on the back foot and ultimately contributing to the defeat. This defeat, coupled with the recent red cards, adds pressure to Arteta and his team to address the disciplinary issues.

With a busy week ahead, including a Champions League tie against Shakhtar Donetsk and a Premier League clash against Liverpool, Arsenal will be looking to regain their form and ensure they are playing with 11 men on the pitch.
