Gabriel Magalhaes and Saliba called the best in the world by unexpected individual

Real Madrid defender Antonio Rüdiger has showered praise on Arsenal’s center-back pairing of Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba, singling them out as two of the best in the world.
When asked to name the top three center-backs globally, excluding himself, Rüdiger unequivocally stated, “I would go, William Saliba, Virgil van Dijk and Gabriel Magalhaes from Arsenal as well.”
The German international highlighted the impressive consistency and impact the Arsenal duo has had on the team’s success. “If you see Arsenal, the two center backs playing together, for two years now they’re doing an amazing job,” he said.
Rüdiger acknowledged the transformative effect Saliba and Gabriel have had on Arsenal’s defensive solidity. “The transformation from Arsenal that was a bit before and now – those two are the pillars of it,” he added.
He further described the unique strengths of each player: “You have Gabriel the aggressive leader, and Saliba – this brother.”
Rüdiger’s recognition underscores the growing reputation of Arsenal’s central defensive partnership. Their strong performances have played a pivotal role in the Gunners’ recent success, with the team currently sitting in third place in the Premier League with 14 points after six games.
Saliba and Gabriel’s ability to complement each other perfectly, combining Gabriel’s physical presence and leadership with Saliba’s composure and tactical awareness, has made them a formidable defensive force. The duo’s performances have not gone unnoticed, with Rüdiger’s praise serving as further testament to their quality and influence on Arsenal’s resurgence.
