Kai Havertz sends a message to Arsenal fans after scoring in win over PSG
Arsenal midfielder Kai Havertz has expressed his delight after scoring in the Gunners’ crucial 2-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League. The German international, who joined Arsenal from Chelsea in the summer, is clearly settling into his new surroundings.
“It was a good game, great result for us, and a good 3 points,” Havertz said after the match. “It feels great to be here. I love the stadium, I love the Arsenal fans, and I feel so happy to be here.”
The victory over PSG was a statement win for Arsenal, showcasing their progress and ambition in the Champions League. Havertz acknowledged the importance of the win, saying, “We are there. If we win against teams like this, it always gives us a big boost. It was tough to go out against Bayern last year, but we grew up as a team, and we want to do better this year.”
The win over PSG puts Arsenal in a strong position in the new Champions League format, which features a single league phase where all 36 teams are ranked together. The top eight teams automatically qualify for the round of 16, while those finishing between 9th and 24th compete in a two-legged knockout phase playoff.
With the victory over PSG, Arsenal have made a strong start to their Champions League campaign. They’ll be looking to continue their momentum in their next game against Southampton in the Premier League.
