Gabriel Jesus sends a subtle message to Arteta concerning his play time
Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus has opened up about his struggles with injuries and his strong desire to be a regular starter for the team a subtle message to Arteta about. This season, Jesus has found himself spending more time on the bench, which has fueled his determination to contribute more to the Gunners’ campaign.
“I am the type of guy who works, always,” Jesus said, emphasizing his relentless commitment to the game. “Obviously I am not happy when I don’t play. I am not happy when I play and score, and the team don’t win. I always want to work, work, work and then I improve where I have to improve.”
Jesus’s time at Arsenal has been marked by moments of brilliance overshadowed by injury setbacks. Last season, his time on the sidelines was significant, and while his talent was evident when he played, those recurring fitness issues limited his appearances and overall impact on the pitch. Addressing these challenges, Jesus remarked, “Last season I had a few issues with injuries and stuff, that people don’t understand. They are not in the club, they don’t understand, but I am not here to make excuses.”
Despite the setbacks, the Brazilian forward remains steadfast in his commitment to push himself and be ready for every opportunity. “I am here to work, try to be fit and then, like I said, when I get my chance, enjoy playing football and try to help the team win,” he added.
Jesus’s drive and dedication are exactly what Arsenal need as they aim to compete at the highest levels in both the Premier League and European competitions. His passion for playing week in, week out, coupled with his hunger to help the team, makes him a vital asset for Mikel Arteta’s squad.
