Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has addressed the criticism surrounding Raheem Sterling’s performances since his arrival at the club. The Gunners boss expressed his confidence in Sterling’s abilities and emphasized that the forward’s limited game time is a managerial decision rather than a reflection of his quality.

Speaking to the media, Arteta acknowledged Sterling’s dedication and professionalism. “I would like to see Raheem more, to be fair, and this is down to me. He’s trying his best,” Arteta said. “His application and commitment around the team have been exceptional, and now it’s time for me to give him more minutes.”

The Arsenal manager elaborated on his plans for integrating Sterling into the squad, highlighting recent appearances as evidence of his intention. “That is my intention. That’s why I put him on against Forest, that’s why I wanted to put him on against Sporting. Now it’s about getting him into that rhythm because he can really impact the team as well,” Arteta added.

Sterling joined Arsenal with high expectations, bringing a wealth of experience from his previous successes in the Premier League and on the international stage. While his minutes have been limited, Arteta’s comments suggest that the club is taking a measured approach to fully unlocking the forward’s potential.

The 29-year-old has faced criticism for his lack of immediate impact, but Arteta’s faith in his abilities and professionalism signals a belief that Sterling can still play a pivotal role for Arsenal this season. With a busy fixture list ahead, the forward may soon get the opportunity to prove his worth and silence his doubters.

As Arsenal continue their push for success in domestic and European competitions, Sterling’s contributions could prove vital in their pursuit of silverware.
