Mikel Arteta has delivered some concerning updates for Arsenal fans ahead of their crucial UEFA Champions League clash against Monaco at the Emirates Stadium. Speaking to Football London, Arteta confirmed that injuries continue to plague his squad, leaving several players in doubt for the game.

“We have to manage a lot of the players,” Arteta stated. “Some of them probably aren’t going to be fit. Some are still a doubt. We have 24 hours to make a decision and hopefully it’ll be the right ones.”

This uncertainty will undoubtedly weigh on Arsenal’s preparations for the match, especially considering the magnitude of the fixture. With qualification for the knockout stages of the Champions League at stake, the Gunners face a stern challenge. The squad has already been stretched thin by injuries in recent weeks, with key defensive and midfield options sidelined.

When asked about how these absences have affected Arsenal’s performances, Arteta remained optimistic: “I’m really happy with the way we’re playing. The good thing is it’s not conditioning the team in such a way that we have to change as a team.” Despite the setbacks, the manager praised his players for maintaining their identity and tactical approach on the field.

This resilience will need to be on full display against Monaco, a side known for their counter-attacking prowess and history of upsetting English teams. Arteta’s selection decisions will be critical, as he balances resting players with the urgency of securing three points.

Arsenal fans will hope that some of the injured players make late recoveries, but with the manager emphasizing caution, the Gunners may need to rely on their squad depth once again. Whether this will be enough to overcome Monaco and maintain momentum in their European campaign remains to be seen.
