Arsenal’s Sporting Director Okays The Sell Of A Fan Favourite Star

Gabriel Jesus’ future at Arsenal is now the subject of growing speculation, with sporting director Andrea Berta reportedly exploring the possibility of selling the Brazilian forward in the current transfer window. Clubs from Brazil and across Europe have made early enquiries as Arsenal look to reshape their attacking options ahead of the new season.

The 27-year-old striker has had a mixed spell in north London since joining from Manchester City in 2022. While he made a strong start to life under Mikel Arteta, contributing both on and off the ball with his energy and link-up play, Jesus has struggled with injuries and inconsistency in front of goal.

Now, Arsenal are reportedly willing to listen to offers, particularly if it helps finance moves for a new striker. Berta, who has been working closely with Arteta on summer transfer business, is said to be assessing both domestic and international markets for potential buyers. A return to Brazil is one possibility, with Flamengo and Corinthians both understood to be interested. However, clubs in Italy and Spain are also keeping tabs on the situation, as Jesus remains a player with a strong reputation in European football.

A potential sale could be driven by multiple factors. Firstly, Jesus is no longer guaranteed a starting role at Arsenal, especially with the club pushing hard to sign Viktor Gyökeres from Sporting CP. Secondly, Arsenal are looking to balance their wage structure while freeing up funds for new signings. Jesus is one of the highest earners at the club, and his sale could open up both financial space and a squad slot for a more consistent goal-scorer.

Despite his recent struggles, Jesus still holds significant value in the market. He is an experienced forward who has won multiple Premier League titles and has played over 60 times for the Brazil national team. His work rate, technical ability, and versatility—being able to play across the front line—remain attractive traits for many top sides.

From Arsenal’s perspective, the decision to move Jesus on would not be taken lightly. Arteta is said to value his leadership and pressing from the front, qualities that have helped elevate the Gunners in big matches. But with the need for a more clinical striker evident in tight games last season, the club may feel the time is right to move in a different direction.

Should a suitable offer arrive in the coming weeks, a sale could be agreed before the end of the window. For now, Andrea Berta is keeping his options open, but Gabriel Jesus’ future in north London appears increasingly uncertain as Arsenal continue to reshape their squad in pursuit of silverware.
