It is no secret that Arsenal is in the transfer market for a central attacking midfielder or playmaker since they have been unable to bring back Martin Odegaard who had shown in the few months he was at the club that he could do the job. Bernardo Silva is an outstanding attacking midfielder that showed his quality in the Premier League in the past even though he wasn't one of the favourites for a start under Pep Guardiola last season. The report claims that even though Arsenal is interested in James Maddison, a move for Silva could prove to be easier to be done as the Portuguese midfielder would be cheaper and Arteta knows him very well since he coached him when he was still at Manchester City as Pep Guardiola's assistant.
