Maitland-Niles became Arsenal’s second youngest Champions League player in December, 2014 when he was brought onto the match from the bench when the gunners were facing Galatasary. He did get some appearances last season in some matches in the Carabao Cup and in the last Premier League matches.
There has been reports that Arsenal new manager Unai Emery wants to give a chance to Ainsley Maitland-Niles because he believes the youngster is talented and the player somewhat confirmed this after he revealed that he has been talking with the new boss.
“You don’t really hear alot of young players being shouted out by their managers, especially a new manager who hasn’t really seen them play too much.” Maitland-Niles told arsenal.com
“I think it’s brilliant to hear from him and it gives me a load of confidence.”
Some Arsenal fans believe that the club wants to replace Ainsley Maitland-Niles with Jack Wilshere who has refused to sign a new deal to extend his stay at the Emirates Stadium.
