Bernd Leno Vows To Fight Petr Cech To Become Unai Emery’s First Choice Goalkeeper
Arsenal new goalkeeper Bernd Leno has revealed that he is ready to fight veteran goalkeeper Petr Cech so that he could become Unai Emery’s first choice goalkeeper in the 2018/19 season.

Arsenal signed Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen this summer and the young goalkeeper comes to the Emirates Stadium hoping to solve the goalkeeping problems of the gunners but the German international will face strong competition from Petr Cech who has been at the North London club for three years now.
Unai Emery arrived at the Emirates Stadium in May and he is the one that signed Bernd Leno so most people believe that the German international will automatically be chosen as the first choice goalkeeper for the upcoming season since he was the new Arsenal manager’s second signing since he took over the managerial job of the London club.
Unai Emery has said that he will choose his first choice goalkeeper depending on performance and he hasn’t made the decision yet but we will probably know in the upcoming weeks since the season will soon start. Bernd Leno has however said that he will work hard so that he could become Unai Emery’s first choice goalkeeper but confirms that he has much respect for Petr Cech since he is a legendary goalkeeper.
“Petr has had a big career, he’s won many trophies and is still a big goalkeeper and a big personality. But I have to look at myself and work hard everyday to be the first choice of the coach.” Bernd Leno told Arsenal Player.
Petr Cech will also be ready to fight Bernd Leno to become Unai Emery’s first choice goalkeeper because the Czech Republican international has continually confirmed that he is not listening to offers from other top European clubs who are interested in him because he hopes to finish off his contract he signed with the gunners.
Bernd Leno also revealed that he was just 19-years-old when he made his UEFA Champions League debut and surprisingly says that he faced against Petr Cech in the opposite goal but they are now together in the same team after seven years.
