Unai Emery Reveals The Goalkeeper To Start Against Chelsea
Arsenal manager Unai Emery has confirmed that the gunners will have Petr Cech guarding there goal on Saturday against Chelsea.
Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech was in between the goal posts of the gunners on Sunday when the gunners faced Manchester City and the Czech Republican international was heavily criticized for conceding two goals in that match, as well as the mistake which almost made him score an own goal.
Arsenal fans urged Unai Emery to start Bernd Leno in-goal on Saturday after their loss against Manchester City because they believe that the German international is far better than Petr Cech who has played in the Premier League for over two decades.
Arsenal manager Unai Emery has however made a statement on that issue and says that he was happy with the performance of Petr Cech against Manchester City, and continues to say that Bernd Leno is a great goalkeeper too but confirms that the Czech Republican international will be starting the match against Chelsea on Saturday.
“For Saturday, the decision for me is easy. Petr Cech can continue to start the match, I believe in him. But If Bernd starts, I believe in him also.” Unai Emery said today in his pre-match press conference.
The Arsenal supporters will however not be pleased that Unai Emery has put his trust in Petr Cech yet it was the same thing which Arsene Wenger did in his last season at the Emirates, because they had always hoped that the Frenchman could be using David Ospina instead of the veteran goalkeeper.
Arsenal’s new goalkeeper Bernd Leno will need to wait for his chance and he will likely be the first choice next season but he will however have to cope up with playing in competitions like the UEFA Europa League and FA Cup because it seems Unai Emery has chosen Petr Cech as his first choice goalkeeper.
