Unai Emery Reveals Update On Aaron Ramsey’s Injury And Contract Extension
Arsenal manager Unai Emery has confirmed that Aaron Ramsey’s calf injury isn’t a major problem and also says that he has left the club to finish the matter of offering the Welsh international a new deal.
The gunners were without Aaron Ramsey last night in their win against Chelsea in Dublin and it was revealed that he had got a minor calf injury during their training before the start of the match.
Unai Emery was interviewed on the severity of the injury of the Welsh international and the manager says that it isn’t a big problem so the midfielder will likely be available for their season opening match against Manchester City, he said that he will however wait until he hears a medical analysis from the medical specialists.
Aaron Ramsey hasn’t signed a new deal and his current deal at the Emirates Stadium will be expiring at the end of next season but the manager confirmed that he has no say on that issue and says that it is something which Arsenal as a club will have to work on;
“It’s one question for the club and another for the player.” the manager told Arsenal Player.
“I am very, very concentrated and my focus is thinking everyday about the training, the players and the match on Saturday against Lazio, and then against Manchester City.”
Aaron Ramsey also recently said that his agent is still having negotiations with the Arsenal officials but they haven’t reached an agreement up to now but he says that he hopes to stay at the Emirates Stadium for some more years.
Unai Emery was also asked what he will do if Aaron Ramsey refuses to sign a new deal and he said that he wants the player to stay at the club and he will leave everything to the player and club. Unai Emery has continually been saying that he hopes to create a squad around Aaron Ramsey and that the player is very important to him.
Unai Emery didn’t make a comment on the rumours that have been trending in the last two days saying that the Welsh international might join Barcelona with the gunners getting Ousmane Dembele in return.
