Mohammed Elneny Fading At Arsenal And Will Leave In January
Arsenal midfielder Mohammed Elneny hasn’t played a single minute for the gunners this season and will likely never get into Unai Emery’s starting eleven with all this competition in the position he plays.
Mohamed Elneny arrived at the Emirates Stadium from Basel in the 2016 January transfer window but he has however failed to become a regular starter for the gunners in the two years he has spent there.
Mohamed Elneny failed to impress Arsene Wenger when he was still at Arsenal and the gunners are now under the management of a new person, this has further reduced the chances of the Egyptian to make it to the starting eleven because Unai Emery does have some important aspects which he needs from different kind of players.
Mohamed Elneny is a multipurpose midfielder who can play in almost all the positions in the midfield area, but it seems that the midfield positions in Unai Emery’s squad are hugely contested by many players this season and the new manager has even made it harder for Elneny after he has shown that he has faith in youngster Matteo Guendouzi who everyone thought that wouldn’t be among the starting eleven this season.
Even though Mohammed Elneny has always been on the bench in all of Arsenal’s first four matches into the new season, he hasn’t played a single minute and the supporters don’t have trust in him anymore because they are always urging Unai Emery to bring in Lucas Torreira who is also his competitor.
It’s a pity that Mohammed Elneny hasn’t got a chance to show Unai Emery what he’s capable of but his playing style is quite similar to that of Lucas Torreira, and he usually has far better performances than Granit Xhaka.
So what will Mohammed Elneny do?
The answer is leave, the Egyptian midfielder is currently 26-years-old and this is the age bracket which most footballers want to impress most in but he won’t be able to achieve that while at Arsenal because he will be playing like once a month this season.
Mohammed Elneny was linked with a move to Marseille in the summer transfer window but the deal didn’t go through because the Egyptian was probably not interested but he will have a chance in January to make a decision again since its now clear to him that he won’t become a regular for Unai Emery.
