Santi Cazorla who was Arsenal’s most loved player at the Emirates Stadium left the North London club in the recently closed summer transfer window, the Spanish international joined Villarreal on a one year deal.

Santi Cazorla was among Arsenal’s best players despite his old age but the midfielder’s career has been ruined due to constant injuries which would make him miss the full season, his contract at the Emirates Stadium expired this year and with the arrival of a new manager, the player had to leave because Arsenal didn’t offer him a new deal since they had nursed his injuries for two consecutive years.

The Spaniard didn’t play even a single minute for Arsenal last season and there were hopes that he would at least make an appearance in the Europa League finals since he would have been fully fit but unfortunately, the gunners were eliminated from the European competition by Atletico Madrid before they reached the finals. The former Arsenal Star Santi Cazorla says that his biggest regret was that he didn’t get a chance to say goodbye to the Arsenal supporters who have shown him great love in all the six years, they have been together.

“The people love me there and I will always have a connection with Arsenal, so much affection.” Santi Cazorla told the Guardian.

“Not being able to say goodbye playing at the Emirates is like a thorn in my side. If I had to leave, I wanted it to be in front of the fans.”

Arsenal fans have also had a strong connection with Santi Cazorla ever since his first seasons at the club and they liked him for his skillful playing style, and they have even nicknamed him “The magician”. Even though the gunners have not won many trophies with Santi Cazorla, the Spaniard is considered to be an Arsenal legend to most Arsenal fans.

I just love writing and football so much ever since the 2000's when football got popular in our country. I am a self esteemed person who believes is am always right.
