Arsenal signed Lucas Torreira from Sampdoria in the 2018 summer transfer window and his move to the Emirates Stadium was heavily awaited by the gooners because the North Londoners had been linked with him even before Unai Emery was appointed as the new boss.

Arsenal fans were excited about the signing of Lucas Torreira because they had already seen clips of how he plays on social platforms like YouTube, to top that, the Uruguayan international had a perfect performance in the 2018 FIFA World Cup including the man of the match performance against Portugal which saw him keep Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo at bay.

Lucas Torreira confirmed his move to Arsenal after the international break but he was surprisingly benched in the first matches of the gunners because Unai Emery thought that he wasn’t fully fit because he was from the World Cup. Lucas Torreira has now become an important player at Arsenal as he has stabilised the midfield of the gunners as they have now been on a winning streak of nine matches.

Former Arsenal ace Adrian Clarke has heaped praise on Lucas Torreira and given his own honest review on the Uruguayan star.

“Arsenal have been crying out for a top-class specialist defensive midfielder for many seasons. They have found one in the shape of Lucas Torreira.” he told Daily Star.

“After a positive impact in each of those second-half appearances, Torreira has become a fixture in the first team and already one of their most influential players.”

“Adding defensive focus, steadfast aggression, positional discipline and ball-winning qualities to the Arsenal midfield, Torreira provides excellent protection to the back four.”

“He has transformed the team’s tactical approach, making Arsenal harder to break down and giving them a more solid central platform that allows Granit Xhaka and others to focus on creativity.”

I am a very stubborn person who is always very argumentative in football discussions but I always win. I like writing about transfer news most.
