Revealed: Why Mkhitaryan Will Miss Arsenal’s Europa League Match
Arsenal midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan might not travel with the rest of his teammates when they travel to Azerbaijan to face Qarabag according to reports.
Arsenal will face Qarabag on Thursday and their European campaign continues after getting a 4-2 win against Vorskla two weeks ago. There has however been some reports which claim that Henrikh Mkhitaryan will not travel with his teammates to Azerbaijan.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan is an Armenian international and Azerbaijan has banned citizens from there from entering their country for political reasons but there’s an exception for sports men but it is believed that the Arsenal midfielder will still remain in London according to the Metro.
This will be Arsenal’s second group stage match and it wouldn’t make a big difference if Mkhitaryan doesn’t go with them but gunners boss Unai Emery did say in the past that he hopes to travel with the Armenian international to face Qarabag despite the political issues.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan is no longer in the starting eleven which Unai Emery uses in the Premier League, so he might travel to Azerbaijan with the rest of the Arsenal squad so that he can prove to the gunners boss that he should be used more often. Unai Emery will confirm whether Mkhitaryan will go to Azerbaijan with them in his pre-match press conference.
