Arsenal 1-1 Wolverhampton Wanderers: As It Happened
Henrikh Mkhitaryan came off the bench to score a late equalizer to stretch Arsenal’s unbeaten run to 16 matches and deny Wolverhampton Wanderers a famous win at the Emirates. Wolves took the lead early in the first half after Ivan Cavaliero finished from close range after an error from Granit Xhaka.
It was end to end action at the emirates, Lucas Torreira and Hector Bellerin both went close to equalising while leading scorer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang hit the post before Mkhitaryan’s 86th minute cross went straight past Rui Patricio. The visitors were also threatening especially late on as substitute Morgan Gibbs-White hit the bar.
The Gunners remain fifth on the table, 3 points from fourth placed Tottenham and 8 points off league leaders Manchester City.
This is the another 2 points dropped by Arsenal in the Premier League sharing points with Crystal Palace, Liverpool as well as Sporting Lisbon in the Europa League making it 4 consecutive draws. However the Gunners managed to keep their unbeaten run alive.
Unai Emery will look to take positives from the match as we enter the International break. Arsenal return from the international break to face sixth-place Bournemouth away on Sunday, 25 November (13:30 GMT) before playing Tottenham and Manchester United.
