How Bernd Leno foreshadowed becoming Unai Emery’s first choice goalkeeper
Bernd Leno has been at the Emirates Stadium for four months but he has however proved in the last weeks that he should be Unai Emery’s first choice goalkeeper.

Arsenal signed Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer transfer window and everyone expected him to be Unai Emery’s first choice goalkeeper since he initiated his signing but the coach rather used the Czech Republican international in the first matches of the season.
Petr Cech was clearly Unai Emery’s first choice in the first matches of the season and the coach didn’t hesitate at any time in using the former Chelsea goalkeeper even though the Arsenal fans urged him to start Bernd Leno in the Premier League. Unai Emery was often asked in interviews on why he doesn’t use Bernd Leno since he was very impressive last season.
Petr Cech got injured recently and missed some matches, and Bernd Leno used that chance to become Unai Emery’s first choice goalkeeper, Petr Cech has returned but it seems his now playing as a back up for Bernd Leno since the German international has proven to everyone that he is a great goalie.
Bernd Leno didn’t play any match in August but it seems he still foreshadowed him becoming Unai Emery’s first choice goalkeeper in an interview with Sport Bild.
“I am convinced that my change was the right decision.” said Bernd Leno.
“I am not crazy, it may take a few weeks or months but my time here will come.” And the time is now because he is now Unai Emery’s first choice goalkeeper.
