Unai Emery Gives Update On Danny Welbeck’s Injury
Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck sustained a horrific injury on Thursday when the gunners welcomed Sporting Lisbon at the Emirates Stadium. The Arsenal fans are worried about the English international because he is a player that has got injured many times during his career at the Emirates Stadium.
Danny Welbeck was selected in the starting eleven that played against Sporting Lisbon last night and the striker did have about to 2 to 3 chances in the first half before he got injured while in the opponent’s box. His injury stopped the match for about five minutes as the Arsenal medical specialists attended to him and even administered Oxygen on him.
There are fears that this might be the last time he wears the Arsenal shirt because he is currently in his last season at the Emirates Stadium as per his contract terms. Unai Emery was asked in his post-match press conference on how Danny Welbeck is doing and he gave the latest news he got about him.
“It’s the worst news tonight, this injury. It’s clear that we are with him in these minutes. He was working well and he was having a good match.” Unai Emery told Arsenal.com.
“He had some chances too. His injury was with the mentality of the players. They [saw] it was a big injury.”
“When you are playing football, when you are playing in competitive matches, it can happen. You don’t want it to happen but this is our profession.”
