Bernd Leno speaks out on his performance against Southampton
Bernd Leno was selected in the starting eleven that played against Southampton and the German international conceded three headed goals.

The gunners faced Southampton yesterday and Arsenal lost the match 3-2 due to poor defending from the North Londoners. The gunners came into this match well knowing that it could be an easy win for them since they had not lost any match since August.
Arsenal’s first two goals were because of poor defending from the centre backs of the gunners but the third goal was also partly Bernd Leno’s fault because he tried to reach the ball but failed hence it going Austin’s way and the striker scored against the gunners as he has done in the last few years.
Most of the Arsenal fans and football pundits have criticized the German shot stopper for the decision he made before the Saints scored the third goal, and even Roy Keane said that he wasn’t happy that Bernd Leno was seen smiling and chatting with Austin after the game.
Bernd Leno has spoken out on Southampton’s third goal and he claims that it was a bit unlucky for him because even if he didn’t try to stretch to catch the ball, Austin would have still scored because he was completely free.
“The last goal was a little bit unlucky for me, I wanted to get the cross because Austin was completely free and it was so close.” Bernd Leno told Arsenal Player.
“No risk, no fun. Maybe next time I will get the ball or I will stay on the line, look at the ball and then nobody says ‘you came out and didn’t get the ball’. That’s the life of a goalkeeper but I would do it again.”
Bernd Leno is a great goalkeeper but he is very bad when it comes to handling crosses because all the three goals which he conceded at the Saint Mary’s Stadium came from crosses so Unai Emery will have to discuss that with his goalkeeping coach.
