Arsenal is currently in the 5th position on the Premier League table and their target is to get back to the UEFA Champions League next season but their defeat to Southampton has put their chances of finishing in top four at risk. So the gunners will now have to join the transfer market to get new players so that they can be able to accomplish their season objective.

Arsenal fans have this season requested Unai Emery to sign a winger in the next transfer window because all the other positions seem OK besides that but it seems their wish could finally come true as a report by Metro UK claims that the gunners are leading the race to sign Lille winger Nicolas Pepe who is valued at £45million.

Arsenal boss Unai Emery said that it isn’t easy to sign players in the January transfer window but said that they will try to look for those that are available. The gunners haven’t been a club that prefers signing players in the winter transfer windows but it however surprised everyone earlier this year when it signed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang so it wouldn’t be a surprise if they brought Nicolas Pepe at the Emirates Stadium midst the season.

Nicolas Pepe is a great winger and he has scored 25 goals in 54 Ligue 1 matches since his arrival at the French club in 2017. The gunners also need a replacement for Danny Welbeck who is ruled out until next year so Pepe would be a great signing for Unai Emery and this isn’t the first time for Arsenal to get linked with the Ivorian international.
