Unai Emery gets given hope in pursuit of Manchester United star
Arsenal’s 22 game unbeaten run ended on Sunday after Southampton humiliated them at the Saint Mary’s Stadium. Unai Emery will now probably be looking to sign new players in the upcoming January transfer window because, their loss to the Saints showed that the gunners still have some gaps to fill.
Arsenal has been linked with Manchester United star Anthony Martial for a long time and even though signing him might seem unnecessary since the gunners have two great strikers but frankly speaking, Lacazette and Aubameyang have been a bit sluggish this season even though they have scored 10+ goals together.
Manchester United is currently in negotiations with Anthony Martial on offering him a new five-year deal but the French striker has fallen out of favour at Old Trafford because Jose Mourinho doesn’t believe in him. Anthony Martial’s agent Lamboley has given Unai Emery some hope in their pursuit of the Manchester United star as he says that the forward is yet to reach an agreement with the Manchester club.
“I am very pessimistic about a positive outcome of the discussions.” Lamboley said in an interview with RMC Sport.
‘They’ve already made several offers that do not meet our expectations. We are far from an agreement for the time being.”
It is unclear whether the Arsenal fans would be happy if Unai Emery signed Anthony Martial but for that to happen, the gunners would have either lost Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang or Alexandre Lacazette. Arsenal’s attackers have this season been missing clear chances and Anthony Martial is an outstanding goal scoring machine if he gets chances in the penalty box so the gunners need him.
