Lucas Torreira says that Arsenal must play in Champions League next season
Arsenal is currently in the sixth position on the Premier League table but Lucas Torreira believes that they will still qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League.

Arsenal was on an unbeaten run of 22 games but everything has started falling apart ever since they got defeated by Southampton. Lucas Torreira has been a fantastic signing for the gunners this season and he has said that the team’s focus this season is to qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
Arsenal has this season gone into the UEFA Champions League spots multiple times but it always goes out after some matches because the race for a top four finish is very stiff since both Manchester United and Chelsea are also trying to get that fourth position. The gunners were in the fourth position after last week’s Tuesday and Wednesday’s Premier League games but they have however found themselves in the sixth position after losing 3-1 to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
Lucas Torreira arrived at the Emirates Stadium in the Summer transfer window and he has been one of their best players this season since his presence has proved that the North Londoners have missed a player of his calibre in their squad for years. Torreira has said that every team doesn’t want to lose matches but he says that if they stay focused, they will achieve their target of going back to the UEFA Champions League.
“Qualifying is something which is very much on our minds. The squad is focused on qualifying for the Champions League because a big club like Arsenal deserves to be in that competition.” Lucas Torreira told Sky Sports.
“If you look at the table at the moment there’s several points’ difference between us, but that said we’ve changed coach this season and there’s been a lot of new players arriving and we know it can be difficult to adapt when that sort of thing happens.”
“We’re all working towards becoming the top team we want to become and I think we are doing that because we’ve been competing with some of the best teams. It’s about fighting with everything we’ve got to achieve our objective because that would be massive.”
