Unai Emery reveals that some players will be benched on Sunday
Arsenal’s boss Unai Emery has said that he will make some chances to his starting eleven that faces Southampton on Sunday because it’s a new game that will require different tactics.

The Premier League returns this weekend and Arsenal will be facing relegation threatened Southampton. Arsenal boss Unai Emery will be hoping that his team doesn’t make any mistakes in this match because it could see them go into the Premier League top four.
Arsenal used a strong lineup in their match vs Bate Borisov and the fans were this time happy with the squad he used because he included Mesut Ozil who is a fan favourite at the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal got a comfortable three nil win over Bate Borisov and the fans will be hoping that he doesn’t do too much tinkering on Sunday when they welcome the Saints at their home ground.
Arsenal was without Alexandre Lacazette on Thursday because he got red carded in the previous UEFA Europa League match but he will this time be available for their match against Southampton. Lacazette is a regular starter so he will probably be reintroduced to the starting eleven and Sokratis Papastathopoulos has returned from his injury. Arsenal used a 4-2-3-1 formation on Thursday but they could however change to a different one to accommodate both Sokratis and Lacazette in the lineup.
Arsenal’s boss Unai Emery has also hint that there will be changes on Sunday as he says that players that didn’t start in the UEFA Europa League game could be involved in this weekend’s match.
“We want to take intensity into every match, at home we are demanding very high of every player to push and give the opposition a hard 90 minutes here.” Unai Emery told Football.London.
“On Thursday we did that, but each match is a new chapter, a new challenge. Sunday I prefer to change some players if I know they are going to give us this intensity. We have players who didn’t play on Thursday who can help us Sunday.”
