Lacazette speaks out on what Unai Emery wants from them
Unai Emery has been at Arsenal for eleven months and Alexandre Lacazette has spoken about what he requests from them.
The gunners appointed Unai Emery as their new head coach in May last year and its been refreshing to see the North Londoners under a new person for the first time after two decades with Arsene Wenger. Most of the Arsenal players have improved under Unai Emery this season even though they are not in the Premier League top four but are very close.
Alexandre Lacazette did not get many chances under Arsene Wenger in his first season at the Emirates Stadium but he has however fought his way back into the starting eleven in this 2018/19 campaign, he has so far scored 12 goals and made five assists and this is great because there’s still more matches to go.
It’s clear that Arsenal’s new head coach Unai Emery does things differently than his predecessor and he hopes to impose his playing style at the North London club as soon as possible. One of the things that he wants is the pressing of opponents from all the players including strikers because this makes the job easier for the defenders.
Arsenal lost its first two matches of the season but Lacazette has claimed that Unai Emery has had a big impact on the squad this season because he wants them to play tactically and defensively.
“Unai Emery has had a big impact as well. He did a good job even if we lost the first two games, because after we won so many games in a row and you can see what he wants us to do, how he wants us to play tactically, defensively.” Lacazette told Arsenal’s official website.
“He wants 100% every day. He wants us to win, even in training. He wants quality as well, we know we have to play well to win. Sometimes not, but most of the time if we play well, we can win.”
