Matteo Guendouzi reveals why Unai Emery starts him in most matches
Matteo Guendouzi is among the few Arsenal players that have made 20+ Premier League appearances for the gunners this season.

Arsenal completed the signing of Matteo Guendouzi in the summer transfer window and even though the young Frenchman was considered to be among Unai Emery’s first signings, the Arsenal fans thought that they would soon forget his name because he would be sent to the Under-23 squad. Arsenal boss Unai Emery has however surprised everyone by giving Matteo Guendouzi many matches starting from the season opening game against Manchester City.
Matteo Guendouzi has also been very impressive in most of the matches which he has started this season even though he has only been able to get just one goal. Matteo Guendouzi has made 25 appearances for Arsenal in the Premier League this season and this is surprising because this shows that he has not taken part in only 3 league matches.
Arsenal will tomorrow face Rennes and Matteo Guendouzi having played in the French Ligue 2 was chosen to be with Unai Emery in the pre-match press conference. The Frenchman was asked what he brings to the Arsenal squad and he said;
“I’m a young player so I have a lot of energy. I run for my team-mates, I play with my heart. Every match I give 150%. That’s what I bring” the youngster told The Mirror.
The response given by Matteo Guendouzi gives a direct answer as to why Arsenal’s boss Unai Emery has been starting him in all matches because the Spanish coach has in most press conferences said that he wants to players that work hard for the team and here’s one who gives 150% effort for his club.
Lucas Torreira got red carded on Saturday so Matteo Guendouzi will definitely start three Premier League matches in a row, it will be a good chance for him to win over all the Arsenal fans that still don’t believe in him.
