Stephan Lichtsteiner reveals an update on his future and Arsenal fans won’t like it

Stephan Lichtsteiner has this season been heavily criticized by Arsenal fans because he is always making mistakes but the Swiss international has said that the gunners could extend his deal.

Stephan Lichtsteiner joined Arsenal in the summer on a free transfer since his deal at Juventus had ended and the fans had high hopes in him but he has been shocking in the Premier League. It is his first season in the Premier League and it seems the intensity of the competition has been too high for him but the Arsenal fans thought that he would be fine since he has immerse experience.

Stephan Lichtsteiner has now become a villain in the eyes of the Arsenal fans and they always get annoyed when Unai Emery includes him in the starting eleven because they believe that he makes many mistakes in matches. Stephan Lichtsteiner is on a one year deal at the Emirates Stadium but he has however revealed surprising news about his future, claiming that the North Londoners have begun negotiations with him about extending his deal.

Stephan Lichtsteiner has made a good number of appearances for Arsenal this season because of Hector Bellerin’s long-term injury and him getting a new offer from the club could be true since, Bellerin will begin full training in October when we are two months into the new season.

“There have been talks about a contract extension with Arsenal. We’ll have to see if they suit both parties.” Lichtsteiner told Neue Zurcher Zeitung.

“Arsenal are a great club, and I’m very happy with them – but I want to play regularly with an eye towards Euro 2020.”

Stephan Lichtsteiner also said that his first season in England has been okay but did hint that he might reconsider his future if the manager doesn’t promise him more playing time next season since one of his targets is getting picked in the Swiss squad that plays in the Euro 2020.
