Unai Emery reveals how Arsenal must play in it’s remaining 8 Premier League matches
Arsenal will need to collect maximum points in their last 8 Premier League matches to get a top four finish and Unai Emery has revealed how they need to be playing.
Arsenal’s main objective this season is to get a top four finish so that they can qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League and, they are for now in the top four but they have been a hit and miss side throughout the whole season. Unai Emery will need to make sure that Arsenal plays in the UEFA Champions League next season and to do that, a top four finish is needed if they don’t win the UEFA Europa League.
We are remaining with only eight Premier League matches and Arsenal has an advantage because it has completed all its fixtures against top six sides but Unai Emery will be hoping that this doesn’t make his squad over-confident since they have slipped up many times this season, e.g away to Rennes, Southampton and BATE Borisov yet they were expected to win those matches.
The Arsenal players that did not receive a call up from their countries went to Dubai for warm weather training and they played a friendly match with Al-Nasr and won the game 2-3. Arsenal’s boss Unai Emery spoke to the media after the game about the match and the Premier League top four race, the gunners coach spoke of how they need to continue playing as they did in their game vs Manchester United.
“Now, in these next eight matches, we need to play with a lot of personality like we did against Manchester United.” Unai Emery told Arsenal’s official website.
“We know it’s going to be difficult because we are surrounded by other big teams but I think we are working very well and we are taking confidence to have chances in the last matches. Each match is our next objective and we think game by game.”
