Unai Emery speaks out on Denis Suarez starting in the Newcastle United match
Denis Suarez arrived at the Emirates Stadium in the January transfer window but he hasn’t started any game for the North Londoners this season.
Denis Suarez has been at Arsenal for two months since he made a loan move from Barcelona and it’s surprising how he hasn’t started any matches when we all thought that Unai Emery brought him to the Emirates Stadium so that he can help them secure a Premier League top four finish.
Denis Suarez has made six substitute appearances for the gunners this season and Unai Emery has said that he wants to slowly integrate him into the squad but the Arsenal fans are confused as to why he would take all this time when they have the Spaniard for only the reminder of this season. It is however worth to note that the loan deal that saw Denis Suarez come to join Arsenal has a clause that allows the gunners to permanently sign him in the summer transfer window.
Denis Suarez played the full 90 minutes in Arsenal’s Dubai friendly match against Al Nasr and the gooners will be hoping to see him also start a Premier League match. The gunners will on Monday face Newcastle United and Unai has hint at including Denis Suarez in the starting eleven that takes on Rafa Benitez’s side.
“I think yes [he is doing well],” said the head coach. “It is normal to take time [to settle].” Unai Emery told Arsenal’s official website.
“I think he is okay for starting in the first 11 or for giving us this impact after. But I think now, our focus is collectively very strongly focused on helping in 90 minutes, or 50 minutes, or one minute. We are going to need every player for the next matches.”
