Two Arsenal stars that Unai Emery will bench in the match against Napoli
Arsenal’s head coach Unai Emery is usually unpredictable when it comes to his starting lineups so let us take a look two stars that he will bench.
Arsenal will on Thursday face Napoli with the hope of progressing to the UEFA Europa League semi finals for the second year in a row. Unai Emery will definitely try to rotate his squad and we today take a look at two stars that could be benched in that game.
MESUT OZIL
Mesut Ozil seems to have shown Unai Emery that he can perform away from home as he is now getting picked in the match day squads but the return of Lucas Torreira and Granit Xhaka could be the reason why the German international starts on the bench in their match against Napoli.
Napoli will obviously be strong at home with the backing of its supporters and Unai Emery will want his team to be balanced and strong in the midfield hence needing Ramsey, Xhaka and Torreira to all start in this game to try to control the game. So Mesut Ozil will probably be introduced into the game in the second half as in their 0-1 win over Watford on Monday.
ALEXANDRE LACAZETTE
It’s no secret that Unai Emery prefers Aubameyang over Lacazette and the Arsenal boss is expected to use a back four since it did look a bit decent than three at the back at the Vicarage Road.
Alexandre Lacazette hasn’t been impressive in the last two Arsenal matches that he has been involved in so Unai Emery will choose to start Aubameyang since he is pacy and that would come handy if the gunners play a defensive game, since a very fast striker would be useful in the counter attacking moves. One more other reason why Lacazette would start on the bench is because Unai Emery would want a plan B if the squad on the pitch fails to put on an incredible performance.
