Arsenal will find it hard to compete with other clubs in this year’s summer transfer window after they failed to win the UEFA Europa League on Wednesday. Arsenal’s boss Unai Emery will now have to sell some of their players to rebuild the club as it’s the only option.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette are Arsenal’s top scorers in the 2018/19 campaign but they are the only valuable assets in their squad that can generate the club a lot of money if sold in this summer transfer window. It’s now being reported by Sport that the gunners could lose either Aubameyang or Lacazette in this transfer window because Barcelona are currently on the search of a new striker since Luis Suarez is now old.
Aubameyang was among the three Premier League top scores last season and Lacazette while having fewer goals than the Gabon international has a major chance of getting picked by Barcelona since he is still young and could still serve the Spanish side for more than five years. The report claims that Lacazette and Aubameyang would consider leaving Arsenal for Barcelona because it would benefit their careers as they would win major honours including assured participation in the UEFA Champions League every season.
The question will however be, will Arsenal let go of either Aubameyang or Lacazette? The answer is definitely no because the North Londoners have helped them a lot this season but if a suitable offer comes in, the gunners could accept it and use that amount to rebuild their squad.
