Torreira hints at the club he will join when he leaves Arsenal
Lucas Torreira has turned out to be an impressive signing because he has a wonderful first season at Arsenal. The midfielder has however revealed the club he hopes to join in the future.
Lucas Torreira joined Arsenal from Sampdoria in the 2018 summer transfer window and he has been very impressive in his first season despite him losing form at the closing stages of the 2018/19 campaign. Torreira has become a fan favourite at the Emirates Stadium in less than a year but he has however spoke of a club that he wants to join in the future!
Lucas Torreira signed a five-year contract with Arsenal but the Uruguayan international has revealed his love for Argentine’s Boca Juniors. Most footballers that come from South America usually speak highly of this club and so this should not be alarming for Arsenal fans who want Lucas Torreira to stay in London for a long time.
“One day, I want to play for Boca and wear their shirt. It’s a dream I have had since I was a little kid. It’s no secret, my family and friends know that.” Lucas Torreira told Fox Sports via TNT SPORTS.
Besides, Lucas Torreira’s performance for Arsenal last season has now put his value up on the transfer market and Boca Juniors can’t afford him now but it seems like the Uruguayan international does plan on joining them in the future. Torreira has been able to win over the hearts of the Arsenal supporters because he has shown how he was a type of player that the gunners lacked for a while and he has helped them to make it to the UEFA Europa League final in his first season at the club.
Lucas Torreira will probably join Boca Juniors in his 30’s because his statement shows how he genuinely loves to at least play for them in the future even if it’s in the last years of his footballing career.
