The gunners will find it hard to sign players in this summer transfer window because they failed to get UEFA Champions bonuses after missing out on a Premier League top four finish by just one point. Unai Emery will be hoping to revamp his squad in this transfer window but it’s claimed that he will need to also first sell some players.
Arsenal is yet to appoint a technical director and so Unai Emery will be working closely with Raul Sanllehi in signing new players and selling those that are no longer needed at the club. The Sun claims that Mesut Ozil is at the top of the list of the players that Unai Emery wants to sell in this transfer window because he doesn’t suit his playing style and his also a big financial burden to the club since he is earning £350,000-a-week-wages.
Mesut Ozil’s performance for Arsenal has reduced ever since he signed a new deal in the 2018 January transfer window and the appointment of Unai Emery has seen his stats dramatically reduce since the North Londoners are using a different style nowadays. It is clear that Unai Emery and Mesut Ozil don’t get along as it could be seen even in the UEFA Europa League final as the Arsenal boss subbed Ozil off to bring in a youngster.
The report claims that Unai Emery will not find it easy to offload Mesut Ozil in this transfer window because the German international likes London and there aren’t many clubs that would accept him now since he has a big wage demand. It remains to be seen if Mesut Ozil will still be an Arsenal player at the end of July.
