Celtic speak out on Kieran Tierney’s future amid Arsenal’s interest
Kieran Tierney has in the last two months been heavily linked with Arsenal and Celtic boss Lennon has today spoken about the future of the Scottish left back.
Arsenal have been linked with Kieran Tierney for two months now but the gunners have still failed to complete the deal as Celtic have tried to be firm throughout the negotiations since he’s one of their star players.
The gunners have so far submitted two bids for the Scottish left back but they have both been rejected by Celtic as they claim that Arsenal is yet to meet their asking price. There hasn’t been any new reports about the Kieran Tierney deal in the last few weeks because Arsenal was probably busy in trying to sign Nicolas Pepe before focussing on other targets.
Celtic manager Neil Lennon has today issued a new statement claiming that all the speculation about Kieran Tierney’s future could be unsettling for the player but he confirms that there are far away from agreeing a deal with Arsenal since the gunners are yet to submit a third bid.
“Obviously the window in England shuts on Thursday. It can be an unsettling period for any player.” Neil Lennon told Sky Sports.
“We have rejected two bids and the clubs know the valuation that we value Kieran at and it’s not been met.”
There is however speculation in Scotland that the gunners could reach an agreement with Celtic over Kieran Tierney soon since Arsenal has a few days to complete this deal because the summer transfer window in England will officially close on Thursday next week. Arsenal’s head coach Unai Emery reportedly wants Kieran Tierney this summer as having a proper left back in his squad is essential to him as he wants to go back to playing a formation that uses a back four.
