The gunners were today welcomed at the St. James Park by Newcastle United and Unai Emery fielded a team that could be considered as light weight since most of their players weren’t fully fit while others had injuries but Arsenal still managed to collect all the three points.

Arsenal has over the years been unlucky in their first Premier League matches but the fans are this time glad that they won and the icing on the cake was that it was an away game. Unai Emery came into this match well knowing that there would be no excuses if they lost since the club backed him in the summer and he however didn’t start any of his new players but a second half goal from Aubameyang won the game for them.

Arsenal head coach Unai Emery faced the media after the game for his post-match thoughts and he said that he was happy that his team won while keeping a clean sheet.

“I want to win. I want to score. I want to do clean sheets. Today we won and did that.” Unai Emery told Football.London.

“The balance offensively and defensively is only taken with the victory. Today in our 90 minutes we could do that being very serious, compact and controlling the game of the ball and creating chances.”

“We need to create chances for our striker. Today with Auba we won.”

Unai Emery faced a lot of criticism last season because his team was very poor at defending and only managed to get just one away clean sheet, so this statement about him fully shows how he was delighted that they didn’t only win but also get a clean sheet.

Arsenal acquired the signature of David Luiz in the summer but he however didn’t start today but the partnership of Sokratis and Chambers looked solid in this game.

I am a very stubborn person who is always very argumentative in football discussions but I always win. I like writing about transfer news most.
